Fumigants used
- Sulfuryl Fluoride (Profume or Zythor)
Sulfuryl Fluoride (SF) is most commonly used to treat stubborn pests in stored and quarantine commodities. SF is used during on farm grain treatments to treat resistant bugs that have built resistance to other fumigants whilst providing large advantages such as short exposure periods (as quick as 24hrs), no residues, treats all stages of the pest lifecycle and offers no resistance.
- Methyl Bromide (MB)
Methyl bromide is an odorless, colorless gas used to control a wide variety of pests in agriculture and shipping. It is used to fumigate export/import commodities and in Australia can only be used for quarantine and pre-shipment requirements.
- Phosphine
Phosphine is the most commonly known fumigant to control stored grain pests in Australian grain-production systems. It is a low cost fumigant that the effectiveness is affected by things such as temperate, humidity and now the the risk of pests that are resistant to this fumigant.
Grain Hygiene Services
We start with a thorough inspection of your Grain Site to identify the type of pests and any areas that you may be exposed to pests. We then develop a customized plan to eliminate any pests and prevent them from coming back.
We provide Grain Hygiene treatments using the latest and most effective chemicals including Dryacide Acid treatment. We can complete site sprays and fogging of storage structures and sheds along with disinfecting where required.
Our staff are also training in Bird Control and assist with providing a personalized plan to manage birds and increase your site Hygiene.
